LL Cool J vs. Sarah Palin
Jennifer Lopez signing w/ Island Def Jam

Hitfix's Greg Ellwood asked Lopez point blank "Are you signing with Def Jam" on Monday during an interview for "The Back-Up Plan" and she said yes, not once, but twice, smiling about the prospect. Word on the street is that Reid will not only sign Lopez, but will produce the actress/singer's new album.
Last month, Lopez and Epic split up before the release of her seventh studio album "Love" following the disappointing reaction to such singles as "Louboutins." Her manager, Benny Medina, confirmed the split to Deadline Hollywood Daily, which broke the news.

Mary J. Blige Punched Husband @ Party

Mary J. Blige punched husband Kendu Isaacs in the face at her record release party at club M2 Tuesday night.
The singer slugged Isaacs, drawing blood, after she thought he was flirting with a waitress.
"She turned to him and was screaming, 'You're not going to ruin my night,' " our witness says. "They got up in each other's faces before someone tried to separate them, at which point she shoved the guy aside, pulled back and popped [Isaacs] in the face."
The source said Blige, Isaacs and their entourage were whisked through a door to the attached club Pink, which was closed. Our witness relates, "She was yelling at him, 'What are you gonna do, Chris Brown me?' Four of her bodyguards and two of the club's kept them apart."
Isaacs was kicked out.
Blige went to the bathroom to fix her hair and makeup, but soon fled, creating an uncomfortable scene for partygoers Jay-Z, Beyoncé and Busta Rhymes.
Her rep said only, "People lie and don't know what they're talking about."

Tiger Woods is not the only one who blew big bucks with his image-busting cheating spree.
His losses are chump change compared with the up to $12 billion that the scandal has cost shareholders of his big-money sponsors like Nike, AT&T and Gatorade, a study revealed Monday.
"Total shareholder losses may exceed several decades' worth of Tiger Woods' personal endorsement income," said study author Victor Stango, a professor at the University of California Davis.
The study compared the stock prices of nine Woods sponsors with competitors and the overall market after the scandal erupted last month.
Investors in the three sports-related companies - video gamemaker Electronic Arts, Gatorade and Nike - fared the worst, experiencing a 4.3% drop in stock value.
On the other hand, Accenture, a global management consulting firm, experienced no measurable ill effects from Woods' fall from grace.
Tyra banks: Pulling plug on talk show!

Announcing the ending of 'The Tyra Show', the former model reveals that she is looking forward to the launching of her New York-based film production company.
Already having a successful TV show, Tyra Banks is looking forward to inspire women through movies. On Monday, December 28, the former Sports Illustrated model revealed her next project, the launch of New York-based film production company Bankable Studios, when announcing the end of her talk show "The Tyra Show".
On her new project, an industry insider told People that the 36-year-old is aiming to bring "positive images of women to the big screen", and will be "redefining beauty for women in film". The TV personality herself supported the statement in a message posted in her website, "My next huge steps will allow me to reach more women and young girls to help us all feel as fierce as we truly are."
The insider further revealed that Banks got the courage to stop her show after mentor Oprah Winfrey announced the end of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" earlier. "With Oprah's big announcement this year, I think that gave Tyra the confidence to get out there and follow her longtime dream of film producing," the source claimed.
Banks revealed she is pulling the plug on "The Tyra Show" through People. "This will be the last season of The Tyra Show," so she told People. "I've been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past 5 years." Her show will wrap at the end of its fifth season in spring 2010.
Banks also wrote a message showing her appreciation to fans for the show on her website. "There's a lot cooking right now and a lot of fire burning in my heart," part of her message read. "And I salute you my amazing family of viewers; without you there never would have been a 'Tyra Show.' I really love you all."
Ending her talk show doesn't mean Tyra Banks will stop appearing on small screen. She will be returning for the 14th season of "America's Next Top Model" in February 2010. Her show "True Beauty" will also continue its production.

Rihanna on the cover of GQ

Part of Rihanna's GQ interview:
You’ve had a crazy couple of days.
Yeah. [nervous giggle]
Now that you’re talking about everything, is it hard, or is it liberating?
Very liberating. It’s relieving. Because it was built up for so long, and all these thoughts and emotions have been running through my mind for the past eight months. And now it’s like I finally get to let go and move on.
Is it therapeutic to talk about it?
Um, I don’t like talking about it a lot. But every time I do, it’s better; it’s easier each time.
Because you said something about wanting to give some insight to young women.
Mm-hmm.
And that’s a brave thing. You could have said nothing.
Mm-hmm.
What made you decide that this was the right thing to do?
Because I wanted to move on. And I knew that was the only way I could have done it. And I wanted people to move on with me. ‘Cause the last big thing they know about me is That Night. And I don’t want that to be what people define me as.
Before I came here—I live across the street from a pretty tough public school in New York City. And I went to talk to the girls there.
Oh, wow.
Just to say, “Hey, I’m going to meet Rihanna. What would you like to know?” And it was interesting, because a lot of them had been in your situation, and they wanted to know how you handled it. Are those the insights you’re talking about?
I guess definitely. I just knew I’d be good one day. I just knew it. So I just kept waiting for that day. Like, you know, even though it was tough the entire time, there were ups and downs, I just kept knowing: I’m gonna get over it one day. I’m gonna get over it.
Who helped you through it?
Nobody.

Flaviana Matata: Professional Model speaks knowledge!

Flaviana Matata says:
Modeling is probably the dream of many girls all over the world, but few are willing and ready to dream big, instead they settle for second best. For me modeling is not just walking on the catwalk or having my photo taken. In every photo that I take I am selling a product and I have to project a given image.
But I believe that despite the widespread convention that models should not put themselves or dominate the product but I believe that every once in a while comes a model whose look and personality dominate the fashion scene. We have seen the super models like Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Iman, Tyra Banks rise to stardom and as a young girl I was strongly influenced by the presence in the fashion industry. That is why I believe that as a model, my role extends beyond the usual call of duty and I can become the face of women from all around the world, from Africa and inspire them to work toward their dream.

On a personal level, I would also be enabling my family to achieve their dreams, to my siblings to whom I am not only an elder sister but at times a surrogate mother since we lost our mother when we were young. With my success at Miss Universe finals in 2007, I have been able to inspire many Tanzanian girls and I have been an advocate for children expressing always the importance of education and the importance of developing the female child in a family. But. action speaks louder than words, and my success as a young African woman would say more than numerous speeches.
When I met Russell Simmons a month ago in New York, I never thought that my dreams can come true so fast, I knew that it would be a long journey to success, taking me years to get to work in America as a model. But Russell Simmons has been ever so helpful giving me the opportunity to audition in New York with outstanding agencies and he is working on helping me find a modeling home in January. Have met many people but honestly he is the man of his own kind, sacrifising his time beside his busy schedule he has, very few people can do this as have had so many promises after doing well in Miss Universe but up to now haven't heard from any of the people who promised to help me pursuing my career. I am so excited about the possibilities and opportunities that await me in the future, in the United States, and I can only hope and pray that all things work out. May God bless Russell Simmons in whatever he his doing.
