Montreal comes to Victoria

In our neighbourhood of Esquimalt is a small restaurant that's a little slice of Montreal. It's called La Belle Patate, and if you don't order anything else there, you at least have to try the poutine. That's a Montreal specialty consisting of french fries, covered with brown gravy and topped with melted cheese curds. Yeah, it's a gut bomb, and you don't want to eat it every day. But, what the heck, you're on vacation. Unless you're really hungry, one order ought to feed at least two people. Steer clear of the spruce beer, another alleged Montreal fave. It smells like Pine-Sol and tastes like it too.
