Tyra banks: Pulling plug on talk show!

Announcing the ending of 'The Tyra Show', the former model reveals that she is looking forward to the launching of her New York-based film production company.

Already having a successful TV show, Tyra Banks is looking forward to inspire women through movies. On Monday, December 28, the former Sports Illustrated model revealed her next project, the launch of New York-based film production company Bankable Studios, when announcing the end of her talk show "The Tyra Show".

On her new project, an industry insider told People that the 36-year-old is aiming to bring "positive images of women to the big screen", and will be "redefining beauty for women in film". The TV personality herself supported the statement in a message posted in her website, "My next huge steps will allow me to reach more women and young girls to help us all feel as fierce as we truly are."

The insider further revealed that Banks got the courage to stop her show after mentor Oprah Winfrey announced the end of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" earlier. "With Oprah's big announcement this year, I think that gave Tyra the confidence to get out there and follow her longtime dream of film producing," the source claimed.

Banks revealed she is pulling the plug on "The Tyra Show" through People. "This will be the last season of The Tyra Show," so she told People. "I've been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past 5 years." Her show will wrap at the end of its fifth season in spring 2010.

Banks also wrote a message showing her appreciation to fans for the show on her website. "There's a lot cooking right now and a lot of fire burning in my heart," part of her message read. "And I salute you my amazing family of viewers; without you there never would have been a 'Tyra Show.' I really love you all."

Ending her talk show doesn't mean Tyra Banks will stop appearing on small screen. She will be returning for the 14th season of "America's Next Top Model" in February 2010. Her show "True Beauty" will also continue its production.
